Lindsey Stone, Medical Assisting
Lindsey is a 2023 graduate of the Sutter County Career Training Center’s Medical Assisting Program and is employed with Family Health and Wellness, a private practice.
A native of Yuba City, Lindsey graduated from River Valley High School. She enrolled in some of her medical assisting classes while still in high school; her ultimate goal is to become an RN. When she reaches her goal as RN, she plans to open a med spa to provide cosmetic procedures such as Botox, lip filler, and more.
The most influential people in Lindsey’s life have been her parents who have always supported her. She would also like to give a shout out to her MA instructor, Tammie Rymer, for consistently pushing her to be her best.
“One thing I’ve learned through my journey,” Lindsey said, “is to keep a growth mindset and that there’s never anything you can’t achieve when you put the work in.”
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and going to the beach. She also enjoys watching TV and hanging out with her dog.
We here at SCSOS are very proud of Lindsey and we wish her all the best as she continues her educational journey.
Ally Zamagni, Erika Zavala, and Gina Becerra, Cosmetology
What happens when you combine three ambitious young women? You get three licensed cosmetologists with an entrepreneurial spirit!
In October 2023, Ally Zamagni, Erika Zavala and Gina Becerra graduated from Sutter County Career Training Center’s brand new Cosmetology program. They are the first graduates to have passed the State of California Licensing Examination. They are now legally ready to offer cosmetology services to the community and plan to do it together in their new shop: Diva’s Salon.
Previously a clothing boutique, Gina has owned the business for some time. Now that she is a licensed cosmetologist, Gina says it’s time to expand the space to include salon stations, sinks and more. The three Yuba City natives plan to offer everything for your hair and skincare needs. Ally will offer haircuts, hair color, braiding and manicures. Erika specializes in waxing, facials using Korean skin care and lash extensions. Gina will offer all things hair related, facials, waxing and teeth whitening.
“We plan to host events at our salon as well,” Gina said. “Ladies’ Night as well as perhaps something for Valentine’s Day. All food and drinks will be complimentary.”
Ally, Erika and Gina expressed how grateful they are to their families for the support they received throughout their time in the cosmetology program. They said they could not have succeeded without them.
If you are interested in a day of pampering, Diva’s Salon has everything you need! The shop is located at 554 Second Street in Yuba City. The women are planning a grand opening in mid-February.
